Changeling


Clint Eastwood directs and Angelina Jolie John Malkovich in a provocative thriller based on actual events: Changeling. In the film, Christine Collins' (Jolie) prayers are met when her kidnapped son is returned. But amid the madness of the photo-op reunion, she realizes this child is not hers. Facing corrupt police and a skeptical public, they desperately search for answers, only to be confronted with a truth that will change her forever.

Los Angeles, 1928: On a Saturday morning in a working-class suburb, Christine said goodbye to her son, Walter, and went to work. When she came home, she discovered he had disappeared. A fruitless search results, and months later, a boy who claims to be supported by the nine-year-old returned. Blinded by the swirl of agents, reporters and her struggle emotions, Christine allows him to be able to stay overnight. But in her heart, she knows that he is not Walter.

As she pushes authorities to keep searching, she learns that in Prohibition-era LA, women do not challenge the system and live to tell their story. - It premiered in competition at the 61st Cannes Film Festival on May 20, 2008, where he received laudatory reviews.

- Director Oliver Stone was originally attached to direct Pink Ville, a film about the army investigation of the My Lai Massacre, but the development was canceled because of the 2007-2008 Writers Guild of America strike.

Quarantine


Television reporter Angela Vidal (Jennifer Carpenter) and her cameraman (Steve Harris) are assigned to spend the night with a shift of Los Angeles Fire Station. After a routine 911 call takes them to a small apartment building, they found the police already on the scene in response to blood curdling screams from an apartment of the units. They learn quickly that a woman living in the building is infected by something unknown.

After a couple of the residents are viciously attacked, they tried to escape with the news crew in tow, only to find that the CDC has quarantined the building. Telephone, Internet, television and mobile phone access have cut-off, and officials are not relaying information to those locked inside. If the quarantine is finally lifted, the only evidence of what took place is the news crew of the videotape.

The Express
