The Express

Based on the incredible true story, The Express follows the inspiring life of the college football hero Ernie Davis (Rob Brown), the first Afrikaans-American to win the Heisman Trophy. After his design of the NFL, tragedy hit the star athlete and he was never able to take on the professional field. But his story would forever change the face of professional sports.

Gerezen in poverty in Pennsylvania coal country, Davis overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles to an unstoppable running back for the Syracuse Orangemen. Under the guidance of coach Ben Schwartzwalder (Dennis Quaid)-a hard surrogate father with an obsession for winning a national championship-Davis would develop an impressive high-school athlete into a legend.

While everyone agrees Ernie Davis was a miracle player, some idea of this quiet young man would become an icon for the rapid expansion of the civil rights movement to divide America in the early 1960. Refusing to play by the racist unspoken rules of the day, Davis broke through one barrier after another to alter the way fans looked at the men of his color.

Although hit a terrible slap in the strength of his life, his spirit up, when most would be in pieces. Examination of his bull-headed coach to review a life lived in color on the basis of privilege, Davis would join the ranks of the black pioneers who inspired a movement that destroys beaten barriers on and off the playing field.
