Babylon A.D


Story is set in the near future and concerns genetic manipulation. In the book, a mercenary charged with delivering a young woman from Russia to Canada learns that she has been manipulated by a synthetic virus and what lies inside her could doom the human race. The film is based on Maurice Georges Dantec's French novel Babylon Babies.

Movie Trivia

- French actor Vincent Cassel was initially sought to be cast in the leading role to play.

- In February 2006, actor Vin Diesel entered negotiations star in the film, titled Babylon AD, dropping out of the guiding role of Hitman in the process.

- In March 2007, the filming crew, having shot in the Czech Republic, took a two-week hiatus due to uncooperative weather, such as the lack of snow, and problems with the set construction.

- Crew members Scouted Iceland for locations with snow to shoot six to eight days in the images, which was supposed to do in February.

- The musical alliance Achozen, represented by RZA and Shavo Odadjian performed the score for the film.

- In April 2007, Babylon AD was reported to be on budget and three weeks behind schedule. A ski sequence intended to be shot in Eastern Europe, but a lack of snow moves the shooting location in Sweden.

- Babylon AD was originally slated to be released in the United States in February 29, 2008, but the release was postponed until August 29, 2008. The American version will run eleven minutes shorter than the European version.
